Composer

Whether it be writing 1 minute mini-songs for @bookchickens online, or a full length musical with The Waa-Mu Show at Northwestern, I love to find the way that a story lives musically. I am always open to collaborations when writing/orchestrating and an excuse to spend hours noodling at the piano.

In the past 3 years of my studies, my love for composition has really been able to flourish through my learning with the Waa-Mu Show, the country’s largest student written musical. I’ve been selected as a writer, member of the writer’s board, ‘project manager’ and most recently, lead arranger for the 2025 production. In 2024, my work culminated in the writing of A Bird’s Song, a 30-minute musical for which I composed, wrote, and arranged, as well as performed in. Listen to a demo of one of the songs below, and check out production photos in the gallery page!

The first songs I ever shared with others were on my tiktok account, @bookchickens , where I nervously began sharing my little songs for a book I loved called Six of Crows. As luck would have it, the author of that book loved my music, as well as the actor’s from the TV adaptation, and I’ve gained up to 48.5K followers since then. On the account I write songs for books that inspire me, as well as make reviews and recommendations. Its been the best place to gain confidence in my songwriting. See one of my original mini-songs here!

The first full length song I completed, from 2022's A Peculiar Inheritance, sung by Meghan Altemose.

The opening number of Waa-Mu '23, Romance en Route. Music by me and Sydney Astle.

Sung by me, as Abigail Lindsey! Music by Sarah Geltz and Samuel Perlman, but features some of my first ever orchestrations.

Music Director

Music Director

I love to discover musical potential and inspire strong musical choices through music direction. Favorite MD credits include music directing the Northwestern Undertones A Capella through concerts, workshops, and winning competitions, as well as youth theatre (Fayetteville Summer Musical, Clemson Little Theatre), and musical theatre cast albums (Abandon All Hope: A Musical Comedy).

As a woman in the vastly male-dominated field of music direction, I am a proud member of the Maestra organization, and serve as their Student Moderator for the Chicago region. Check out my Maestra profile and music direction resume here!

Teacher

Teacher

I owe everything to my amazing music teachers that I grew up with! I am available as a piano, voice, and saxophone teacher and I always strive to encourage my students by challenging them with music that they love. I’ve taught privately, as well as full workshops in public schools across the country. Some of my favorite teaching memories include working with students in the Camp Catanese program in Phoenix, Arizona and teaching with my own former middle school teacher at the Fayetteville Summer Musical.

Instrumentalist

Instrumentalist

Although I’m primarily a singer, piano was what started it all! I’ve been playing the piano since age 5 and the saxophone since age 10, and both have been indescribably helpful to me as a musical theatre performer. Having specialized in jazz, I love playing “off the page”, but still enjoy my time recording albums or playing in bands on my instruments.

Recently, I’ve added some instruments to my repertoire including the accordion, guitar, and ukulele. I’m always fiddling around with new instruments and wanting to learn more, but my absolute favorite thing to do is be an actor-musician, and get to express both my passions at once!
